FACEBOOK: If you're a Facebook'r ... there is a new a Facebook page called “University Park Neighbors, Colorado Springs”. It is a nice way to keep in touch during quarantine, as well as be a way that neighbors can reach out for some help if they need a run to the grocery store, an RX pick up, or if there is someone that can run errands or walk a dog.
Update March 24th:
With the recent Covid-19 impacts on the community, here are a few updates so you know what is happening with the Association.
If you see a product on the internet that's being promoted to prevent or treat coronavirus, don't buy it. There have also been reports of Phishing messages, whether in a text an email claiming to be from the World Health Organization or, "Click here for your free vaccine or additional information about how to protect yourself." Do not click on any links or download unknown links from unknown senders. ** There currently IS NOT an FDA approved home test kit available for the virus.
Donations: please be cautious if a person contacts you or if you are contacted by other means that makes you feel rushed or if they are asking for gift cards, cash or asking you to wire money. Please be vigilant. Thanks UP HOA
A memo from the Colorado Springs Police Department:
We know that there are a lot of questions regarding the state’s new “Stay at Home” order. We want to assure you that Colorado Springs Police (CSPD) officers are still here for our community during these difficult times. In order for us to best serve you, we need your help.
Since the order was announced last night, we have seen a significant increase in calls to our Communications Center that are not emergency related. Calls range from reporting kids playing outside to cars driving down the road.
It is important that someone who needs access to police, fire, and AMR are able to reach a dispatcher without delay. Before calling 911 or our non-emergency dispatch number (719) 444-7000 regarding COVID-19, we ask that our community members please review the governor’s order to ensure you have an understanding of what is and is not allowed during this “Stay at Home” Order.
Additionally, we hope the information below will help direct people to the correct points of contact so their questions and concerns can be addressed as quickly as possible.
- Information on the governor’s order can be found here:https://covid19.colorado.gov/stay-home-except-essential-needs (please note that there are many exceptions to the order that allow people to be outside and conduct necessary business)
- To report large gatherings and for more information on COVID-19 in El Paso County, please see the El Paso County Health website at: https://www.elpasocountyhealth.org/services/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19
- Only call 911 for emergencies
We thank everyone for their dedication to our community, and we ask that moving forward we continue to come together, be respectful of one another, and be responsible community members.
